The Berkshire Countryside Society exists to promote the understanding, appreciation and conservation of the West Berkshire coutryside by its residents and visitors and all other groups and businesses involved in its care and management.
Our remit is to continue to work in partnership with farmers, landowners and communities in conserving and enhancing biodiversity in West Berkshire. West Berkshire Council is funding the project as part of its ongoing commitment to biodiversity.

The primary index of the physical remains of past human activity in West Berkshire

The Windsor and Maidenhead Conservation Volunteers was founded in 1987/88 and has gone from strength to strength since then. Although there is a core group of people involved, there are many people who attend the working groups as and when they can.
Wokingham Biodiversity Forum was founded in March 2000 initially to involve the local community in the drafting of the Wokingham Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP). The group has undertaken a variety of other projects since and is open.
